Chad's very first Cub Scouts Space Derby happened this spring and he was so excited. David helped him to sand the rocket, build it and paint it. It was a fun project for them to work on together and I think Chad really enjoyed it.

Chad's rocket ended up winning some of the races and losing others. A couple of times it hardly moved, but after he and David started to figure it out, it flew. It didn't get to the ending point first, but it made it all they way across the string first. It actually kind of crashed because it was going so fast. Chad had a great night and I know he looks forward to the next time he gets to build something for a cub scout derby.
