District Music Festival
Every March, the kids perform with their after school music group at the District Music Festival. This is such a great night and all of the school choirs and bands perform, dance, and sing. It is really great to see so many kids share their talents. Promenade always sing more recent songs that are on the radio and so they are always a crowd favorite. :) This year they sang Lean on Me and Call Me Maybe. They came out of the stands and danced towards the end of Call Me Maybe, and being one of the fifth graders, Kylie had her own little solo that she got to choreograph on her own. She was so nervous, but so brave to get out there and do that in front of a gym full of people. I was very proud of both of them. Love to watch them perform.

Third Grade Play - Vacation to Mars
The third graders put on a great little play about the Solar System and all of the planets. They had some great actors and lots of fun songs. Chad loved his part of rocking out on the guitar and took it very seriously. We even gave him purple hair for his performance.

5th Grade State Fair
Fifth grade is the year for learning about the United States and Kylie was given an assignment to learn all that she could about one state and then present it in class. She chose Pennsylvania because that is where Hershey's chocolate is made and she LOVES their chocolate. She handed out Hershey's Kisses to the kids as they came by and shared important facts about her state. It was fun to walk around the State Fair and learn about each different state. The kids did a great job sharing what they had learned.
3rd Grade Four Square Tournament
One of the teachers at the kids' school decided to hold a four square tournament during recess time just for the third graders. Chad was so excited and jumped right in to compete and came home telling me about it every day. The longer the competition went on, I realized that he was doing very well. It came down to the last round, and there were only four kids left. He never knew the end results. It was so cute. The teacher went out on his own and had medals made and decided to present the awards at a flag assembly in front of the whole school.
In this picture, Chad is getting called up to get his SECOND PLACE medal!!! He was so excited. I love that you can see Kylie in the background cheering for him. So cool that she was sitting in the right place to be in the picture too. He literally RAN up there to get his medal.
In this picture, he is finding out that his friend, Ronnie won first place. I was so proud of him for his good sportsmanship. He was sincerely excited for his friend that took home the first place medal. It was cute.
