Double Digits!

We now have a ten year old in the house!  Wow, does that make me feel old.  Kylie turned ten in January and we did everything we could to make it a special birthday for her.  She is a joy in our family and always responsible and thoughtful.  She is so smart and excels in all areas.  She is shy and holds back a little, but somehow friends find her.  As she is getting older I do see a change in her personality.  She is starting to come out of her shell a little and has branched out and done things that I would not expect.  She is letting her light shine to others and is a good example.  She has come across some new situations and new behaviors from some of her classmates, but always comes to me with her questions and concerns.  I hope she will always feel comfortable talking to me about her struggles and hopes and successes.  I know she will have many of them!  I am so looking forward to watching her grow up and all that she will do with her amazing talents!  We love you Kylie!

Kylie really wanted to make her own birthday cupcakes which I thought was really cute.

David and I toilet papered her room while she was sleeping and she woke up to this!  I loved leaving little post it notes all over her room telling her why I love her.  I think she enjoyed reading them.  Cameron woke up early with her and enjoyed her reaction!

Group hug!

All Kylie wanted to do for her tenth birthday was have a Girls Day Out to the American Girl store in Los Angeles.  Delaney and her mom Diana went with us, who just so happen to be our neighbors.  Delaney and Kylie have been friends since they were born.  We had so much fun exploring The Grove in LA and just enjoying time being girls.  Here they are, all ready to go with their American Girl dolls.

That day they just so happened to have a scavenger hunt planned so the girls jumped in and participated.

They traveled all around the store looking for clues.  The store was ginormous!!  At the end they both received a poster of the new Mckenna doll.  They did a great job and worked well together as a team.

Kylie got a new outfit for her doll and even got Kit's ears pierced.  Crazy, right?
This was just a special occasion for her tenth birthday remember!

That night we met up with the entire family at Claim Jumper, Kylie's choice for dinner.  Everyone was there and we had a great time eating and celebrating.  She opened presents and passed out the birthday cupcakes she made.  Her favorite gift?  A Justin Bieber CD from Aunt Mary.  Hilarious!
Is she a ten year old girl or what?
