Soccer Season

Just as the summer ends....soccer season begins.  I am quickly realizing that I love to watch my boys play soccer.  I think more than any other sport.  I would even say that this might be their favorite sport to play.  They are both so good and so aggressive.  This makes David really happy too because soccer has always been his favorite.

This was Cameron's first official year to be old enough to play on a team.  David has coached Kylie and Chad's teams for a number of years, and it was finally Cameron's turn to have coach Daddy.  He was so excited.  These are some of the best pictures of my boys.

Somehow, both of our boys ended up on the Fireballs.  Both of their teams picked the same name, without any influence from our family.  Kind of strange, but really cool.  I never shouted for the wrong team at any game this season.  :)  Cameron loved his first season and was very sad to see it end.  He learned how to play with a team and really learned about the rules of the game.  It was so fun to watch.  I think he probably scored at least two goals every game.

Chad always starts out kind of shy and timid, but by the end of the season, he is all over that soccer field.  He became one of the shining stars on his team through his hard work and dedication on the field.  He never gave up.  There were a few games that his team would not have won if he did not score.  I was so happy to watch his face light up when he knew he did something awesome.

A little coaching session with Dad at halftime.

In October, AYSO had a week long tournament.  Chad's team had to play in the pouring rain during a weeknight match, and three games in a row the following Saturday.  I was so impressed with their stamina.  At the end of the tournament, they ended up taking home the second place medal.  It was very exciting and the boys had a great time.  It was nice to see good sportsmanship at the end of the last game when they lost.  I was a proud momma.
