Two summers ago, Kylie had the opportunity to participate in our stake's production of "A Trail of Dreams" about the Mormon pioneers. We are so fortunate that our Stake does a play every other year. Kylie could hardly wait until the tryouts came for this years production. We quickly learned that it would be Fiddler on the Roof and so we realized we needed to rent the movie and fill her in on the storyline. I remember watching the movie often when I was young, so even I was really excited.
The night of tryouts, about ten girls near to her age came together and sang a line I will always remember, "And who does Mama teach, to mend and tend and fix, preparing me to marry who ever Papa picks!" They all sang so beautifully and I was so impressed.
Kylie was chosen to be part of the cast and practiced all summer long. She loved the music from the show and could hardly wait for opening night. Here she is just before the show began.
It was so hard to decide which pictures to use on the blog. This production was almost at the professional level. It was so good. The costumes, lighting, music, acting, directing....everything. It was such a good experience for Kylie. Here are some pictures from some of my favorite scenes of this amazing production.
Kylie had many friends and family come to watch. I didn't even get pictures with all of those that came. We are lucky to have so much family close by.
Being silly after taking their final bow...
