Chad is Seven!

Chad's birthday was right before Labor Day weekend this year. He always gets an extra few days off from school to celebrate. This year was not a big party year, but he had a whole weekend of fun. Thursday was his actual birthday and we celebrated with donuts for breakfast, and popsicles with his class at school. I made his cake while he was at school that day, and he asked if he could decorate it himself. I think he did a great job! The family came over that night for dinner to sing and have cake. We ended up having a water balloon toss with some neighbors outside and that was really fun too. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera to document the rest of the weekend. Friday night we all went to an Angels game (Chad's request) and there were fireworks that night and everything.....just for Chad! :) Saturday we went to the beach and hung out in the sun. I think he thought his birthday might go on forever!

Chad was my first little boy and he has always been very sweet and loving. He is so talented in many ways. He is becoming a great athlete, can build anything he wants with a set of LEGOS, excels in all areas at school, and can make friends with anyone. He loves to breakdance and would love to someday perform with a dance crew. You can often find Chad spinning on his head. This makes me nervous, but it also makes him happy so we try to compromise. He is a very deep thinker and sometimes I think he has selective hearing, but it is probably because he is always in deep thought. He is a perfectionist like his parents, so sad, but tries his best in all he does. He works very hard and likes to please people. I love his laugh and I love it when he is kind to his brother. He is a great example to Cameron. His teachers at church and school love him and would like a class full of kids just like him. He makes me very proud and I love to climb in bed with him at night and tell him that. That is our special time when we can just chat and catch up and I love it. I love that he will talk to his mom, and actually asks to have a few minutes with me alone at the end of the night. I hope he will always come talk to me - even in ten years when I might be afraid to hear what he has to say. I am so lucky to have him in our family.
