Our very first fire of the season. We had a soup and salad picnic on the floor on our first cold night of winter. It was lots of fun and honestly one of my favorite dinners. The weather has been so weird this year. We haven't gotten to use our fireplace as much as we usually do. Eighty degree weather and a fire in the fireplace don't go very well together. ;)
Out last couple of trips to Sea World were great. We were sad to finish up our passes for the year, but had some pretty exciting moments in the park in December.
Cameron went on his first real "big kid" ride. I was so proud. He had been saying no all year and then on our second to last trip there, he decided to try it out. Of course, he loved it and wanted to go on it again and again.
We just so happened to visit Sea World on the same day as the Arizona State Football team! This is a big deal. David (and now the boy)s are huge Arizona State fans and had just watched them play their most recent game over the weekend. Of course we had to stop some of the players and take a picture. The sun was bright that day, but I am still glad to have this photo.
We loved all of the beautiful trees they had during the Christmas season.
Kylie is in the Villegas Show Choir at school and had the opportunity to go see The Lion King in
Los Angeles at the Pantages Theatre. David and I drove on our own and met the bus at a BJs for dinner and then again at the theatre for the show. It was so fun to watch the show through Kylie's eyes and watch her enjoy all of the amazing moments. I realized that night after I watched her with all of her friends how grown up she is. She was so independent and had a great time.
The night that we went just so happened to be the same day that Nelson Mandela passed away. Many of the shows actors are from South Africa and they put on a beautiful tribute after the show ended. They sang the South African national anthem and showed great respect for his life. It was something that none of us will ever forget.
Kylie's dance studio held a master class with a Hollywood choreographer named Jason Mehyre. They had an intense hour of instruction, choreography, and performing. At the end of the hour, he chose two or three students to receive scholarships to his upcoming convention in Long Beach. Kylie was one of the girls selected in her age group and she was so excited. She has worked hard for a long time and was happy to be recognized. It was a great honor and I am so proud of her.
This is the instagram photo that her studio sent out.
Group shot with Mr. Jason and the girls in Kylie's master class.
Chad got to spend a day at Knott's Berry Farm with his friend Travis. I think this is one of my most favorite pictures of him. He is so handsome.
He also led the bear den in bringing in the flag for the December pack meeting.
And he FINALLY received all of his awards and his wolf badge that he earned back in September. It was a good night and I think he enjoyed himself. :)
