Tree Decorating
We ended up not getting very many great pictures of tree decorating this year. Funny story....this turned out to be the worst tree we have ever had. It pretty much died a few days later and we had a dead, decorated tree until the morning after Christmas when we got rid of it. :( Kind of sad, but also kind of funny. It had the perfect shape and seemed so fresh when we picked it out. But apparently it wasn't. So sad. But we had a great time decorating it anyway.
Kylie's First Middle School Choir Concert
This is Kylie's first year of middle school and she auditioned and was able to join the Villegas Show Choir. She is loving the singing and being a part of such a fun group. For their holiday concert, she was asked to perform a dance solo during the song "Breath of Heaven" by Amy Grant. A high school friend from dance class choreographed it and they both performed it at their own concerts. She did a beautiful job. I was so proud of her for being able to get out there all by herself and even do a solo. This was her first time and she rocked it. She used to tell me that it was hard to perform at eye level when she can see the faces of people watching. I was so nervous for her, but I think she overcame her fear that day. (I actually think I was more nervous than she was). The music and dancing was awesome and she had a lot of family there to support her.
Not only did Kylie have a dance solo, she was also given a singing solo at the beginning of the song "This is my Wish". I thought she would be too nervous, but she surprised me once again. I am so proud of her for sharing her talents more as she gets older. She has been given some great opportunities and is learning a lot.

The choir also performed at the Mission Inn later that month.
I loved this part with Kylie and her friend Hannah.
Dance Team Performances
The Kane Dance Academy Performance Team performed a couple of times this holiday season. They performed at Dos Lagos Shopping Center in Corona and the Mission Inn in Riverside. She was in three dances and did a fantastic job. She always has a good time with friends and loves to be on stage. It was fun to watch - and freezing outside!

Treat Making
Every year, our family makes treats for the entire staff at David's school. It always turns into a big production and we are always up into the wee hours of the morning finishing after the kids go to bed. Can you tell how exhausted he is in this picture?! It's always fun to make memories and to give something handmade to his staff to let them know how much he appreciates them. This year we made peppermint rice krispy treats with crushed candy cane. They were so yummy. The kids always deliver them to their teachers and office staff too. The holidays are a great time to serve others.

Santa Letters
The kids were excited to get their letters from Santa telling them
that they are on the good list this year!
Chad and his friend Travis collected toys for Student Council at the Holiday Pancake Breakfast and Craft Fair at the school. He is looking so grown up here.
