We are lucky to have lots of family close by, and so this year we got to celebrate Thanksgiving on two different occasions. On Thanksgiving night, we were at Mary and Alex's house with David's local relatives and it was great to visit and catch up. We also celebrated Uncle Phil's 90th birthday. I am so impressed with how alert and on top of things he is at his age. I hope to be as awesome when I am 90!
Thanksgiving 2013
Grandma brought everything that is needed to make homemade ice cream with the kids.
They loved this and I think they will always remember it.
COLD HANDS!
Ready to eat....my kids can eat ice cream any time. Even in November!
Happy Birthday Uncle Phil!
Our second Thanksgiving feast was a couple of days later at our house. It was nice to have all of my family here at one time. This year we were with my Dad and Mary. All the boys wanted to do was play football when Grandpa and Ryan got here. They loved it outside while they were waiting for dinner to be ready.

Me and Davey :)
After dinner we had an UNO tournament. The winner of the kid table faced off with the winners of the two adult rounds. This was a lot of fun. The kids thought they were awesome because they could play this game all on their own.
We asked everyone to pick one thing that they are thankful for and write it down on a leaf for our Thanksgiving tree on the wall. It was interesting. Almost every person said that they were thankful for family. We need to get together more often. It was a great night. I might even want to host again next year. :)
