Brothers and Sister

I have many memories of doing fun things with my brother and sisters. We had some great times and always came up with new things to do. (Some day I will have to do a post about all of that!) It is fun to watch my own kids do the same thing. Here are some random pictures of some fun times the kids have had with each other lately.

Good times gathering up all of the scrappy paper left over from a project I was working on for Kylie's teacher. *(Look on to see what they were doing with it!)

Kylie and Chad thought it would be fun to put on something from Mom and Dad's closet. Thus, my pink shirt on Kylie and Daddy's blue shirt on Chad.

Woo...hoo....snow!

Dressing up and watching a Thomas movie. Life can't get much better than this!

We found Cameron like this one morning....too cute and funny not to take a picture!

Love watching them play together! I'm so glad they have each other!

Looking forward to more fun times with Kylie, Chad, and Cameron. Just hoping that they always enjoy each other's company as much as they do now! (A girl can dream, right?)

Baby Alex

Something else fabulous happened on Valentine's Day too! Our kids got a new cousin!! David's sister Mary and her husband Alex FINALLY had a baby! Alejandro Luis Carro was born very early on Valentine's Day morning, and we couldn't be more excited. Check out how cute he is!

Valentine's Day Love

I feel very blessed to have a happy family. It's one of those things that I always wanted growing up, but never had. I always knew that when I grew up and had my own family, things WERE going to be different. And they are. I am so thankful for my husband and kids and can't imagine a happy life without them.

Our Valentine's Day tradition is to have a morning scavenger hunt to look for our valentine treats. We usually follow the day with a yummy breakfast and then a drive down to walk on the beach as a family. This year, Valentine's Day was on a Sunday, so most of that didn't happen with 9am church. We had a wonderful day at home with the family, but we are looking forward to continuing our beach tradition next year. Here's some pics of our day this year.

Making school valentines...fun, fun, fun!

Kylie and I had fun making treats for dance class friends.

We love our kiddos!

Kylie finding a clue on the scavenger hunt.

Chad found his treat in mommy and daddy's sock drawer...eeew...
he loved it!

Cameron found his treat in the bathtub!

Reading Valentine cards.
Kylie made a special card for everyone in the family...too cute!

Snow Day!!

I love where we live. You can be pretty much anywhere you want to be in an hour or less. We can be at the sunny, warm beach and in the cold snowy mountains on the same day. It is fabulous!!!!
During our break in February we headed up to the local mountains to go intertubing in Snow Valley. We had a blast. Kylie and Chad immediately headed up the hill on their own and sledded down...no fear. Cameron, not so much...but he tried it out. We spent an hour going down fast hills, had a snowball fight, and tried to build a snowman. It was a great day. And there is nothing better than hot chocolate afterwards. We are looking forward to going again soon!

Boys will be Boys

Boys will be boys....enough said. (Except that...yes, I let my kids play in the mud....as hard as that is!)

Kylie, earrings, and surgery???

Unbelievable, right? That's what I thought. It all started one morning, about two and a half weeks after she got her ears pierced. All was well the night before, beautiful clean ears, no infection, and two bright and shiny earrings. We thought we were doing everything to take care of them properly - and apparently we were. But in true Ferguson fashion, something had to happen to us that HARDLY EVER happens to anyone else.

The next morning she woke up and came in saying, "Mom, where is my earring?" I kind of blew her off and said, "Oh, no big deal, maybe it just fell out while you were sleeping." I waited a few more minutes until I was doing her hair to take a look at it. She explained that it was still in her ear and that she could feel it. Honestly, it took me like ten more minutes to believe that it was actually stuck inside her ear. Seriously. To make a long story short, we went to the doctor, who then sent us to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. He explained that he would not be able to get it out in the office because she was so young. He said that she would probably freak out and squirm causing more damage to her ear. He told us that we would have to come into the out-patient surgery center the following week for a minor surgery to remove the embedded earring from her ear.

So, she missed a day of school, and we went. I was impressed at how calm she was. Considering she is her mother's daughter, she handled it very well (and so did I....I might add!). We talked during the time they were getting everything ready, and when it came time for her to go, she waved good bye and went. After about fifteen minutes they brought her back out. No crying, just calm, eating a popsicle. She did a great job and is now as good as new....except with only one earring. We are waiting for her ear to heal completely, and then it will be time for ear piercing, round two. Wish us luck this time!

Good ear....

Bad ear....

Relaxing after surgery....

David turns #@!!

I guess I won't share with EVERYONE how old David is....that would be mean, right? We had a great time celebrating his birthday. Cameron and I took lunch to eat with him in his office and we finished it off with some red velvet cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory - David's favorite. Then he came home to a yummy spinach lasagna that he requested and a special birthday cake and decorations made by the kids. I think we made his night - but the kids definitely enjoyed it the most!

I love the cards they made for him...Chad's says I love you because you play with me. So cute!

We love David because he works so hard to support and take care of our family. He is good at everything he does and always amazes me with his talents. He loves his family more than anything else. Sometimes I wish that he would take some more time for himself with his own hobbies and fun. Happy Birthday Davey!
