I Think I Might Cry....

Chad finished up his last year of preschool and I am extremely happy that he and Kylie will be attending the same school next year. But....I think I might cry. How can he be old enough for kindergarten already? Kylie's birthday is in January - so I did not doubt when it was her turn to start kindergarten in September. Chad will not even be five yet. He was tested for kindergarten readiness in preschool, and all who know him say that he is ready to start - even his future kindergarten teacher (the one that Kylie had too.) But....I'm still amazed that it is his time. I know that I have to be the brave mom - I used to make fun of those moms when I was teaching - but I have to admit that I am just a little bit sad!

Here are some fun times from Chad's last few days of preschool.

Chad's class went on a field trip to Rubidoux Nature Center and learned about the plants and wildlife that live in the local area. The kids were all very interested!

Ms. Erdman is helping Chad finish up his animal foot print made out of cement.

His Daddy would be so proud....actually not....Daddy is impressed that Chad would
touch snakes, because he never would.

At the end of the day, the kids got to go on a nature walk.
They had thunderstorms and lightning that morning so it was nice and muddy
for all of the four year olds to walk in - good times!

I had to take some pictures of Chad playing at preschool on his very last day. We are going to miss his preschool a lot - but have had Cameron on the waiting list since he was born!

Getting to make your own ice cream sundae with whatever you want on it = the best day ever!

Cameron knows how to make himself at home in Chad's preschool classroom!

This year Chad has developed a love for basketball at school.
As you can see, he's getting very good at it!

I thought this was so cute. A bunch of boys made a bike train, and enjoyed crashing into each other and then waiting for everyone else to catch up. It was fun to watch - definitely all boys!

Chad had to say goodbye to his good friend Sal (and the puzzles that he loves in his classroom!) I know that we will continue to have play dates with Sal in the future!

After the last day of school, Chad's Cute Kitten class had an end of the year party at a park near the school. The kids had lunch and played for hours. Chad had so much fun and I know that he will miss all of his preschool friends. Here's some pics.....

Chad had a little crush on a little girl named Sofia. Here's their last picture together!

The preschool director - Mrs. Salmon.

Chad's last picture with his teacher Ms. Erdman.
He tells me all the time how much he is going to miss her!

Boys hanging out on the slide!

We will miss you FUMPS (First United Methodist Preschool)!
See you in 2010 when it is Cameron's turn!

Promenade End of the Year Activities

We had lots of great activities at the end of Kylie's school year at Promenade.
Promenade has THE BEST families and teachers!

First, the end of the year get together was a luau with hawaiian food, music, dancing, hula hoops, the limbo, smoothies and more. We had a great time....I wish that I had pictures of Cameron dancing. It was so cute. Check out the luau pics!

Kylie's teacher, Mr. Dalilis, is a DJ on the side. He is also Hawaiian - so he was perfect for playing music and fun games at the luau.

Cameron was happy in his stroller, as long as he was drinking a smoothie!
Down below - watch Kylie and Chad limbo, hula hoop and dance!

Next, Kylie had the opportunity to participate in the end of the year play "Three Piggy Opera". She is a part of the performing group the All Stars, and they did a great job. All of the little actors were cute, and Kylie was a part of the chorus that sang throughout the show. Kylie gets up early every Wednesday and Friday to be a part of this group. Rehearsals start at 7:30am and she rarely complains. I know she loves to perform....here are some pictures!

Here's Kylie at the end of the performance with the two directors, Mrs. Bain and Ms. Hovde.

I LOVE that I accidentally caught this on camera. This is right before the play started and the classes are walking in to sit down. The little boy that Kylie is smiling, actually beaming at, is Jacob. Her little crush in her class - how cute!

The chorus during the production.

Bowing at the end of the show! Everyone did fabulous!

Last, all of the first grade classes got together to have a picnic and game day at Promenade Park across the street. Chad and Cameron and I decided to join them and we had so much fun!

Chad just joined in and acted like he was part of the group.

I know that he can't wait for kindergarten next year.

During this wagon ride with Jacob....the kid were seriously singing the wedding march.

Water balloon toss with Vikki.

Well deserved popsicles at the end of a hot day at the park.

Chad's new first grade best friend. They had fun that day!

Mr. Dalilis' first grade class 2009!

I think I have an identical picture on our blog from the kindergarten picnic last year! What are these three going to do if they are not in the same class next year?

Eating pizza for lunch - see what I mean about Chad making himself feel right at home?

Happy boy! Cameron loves the park...and this is the only picture I have of him there. The rest of the time was spent chasing him around everywhere, which meant no time for pictures of him!

Here's Kylie on the very last day of school with her all year long perfect attendance award and many others! She had an awesome year in first grade!

The end of the year for Kylie was great....stay tuned for some preschool fun with Chad!

Memorial Day and the Strawberry Festival

On Memorial Day we had tons of fun at the Strawberry Festival in Garden Grove. David grew up about a mile from the festival and we always hung out there in high school. It was fun to go back. We learned that the kids love parades, are starting to love strawberries, enjoy roller coasters, and can walk a long way when they have to. We had lots of fun with Grandpa and Mary. We ended up hanging out the whole day - rode some rides, had lunch, and played at the park afterwards. It was great - we are looking forward to next year!

Chad's Open House

Chad's Open House was a great success--he had so much fun--and had quite the entourage, too! We were impressed with how many people made it all the way out to Riverside to witness his awesome preschool accomplishments! Thanks for coming guys!

Chad's impression of himself!

Chad's impression of me!

Learning about ladybugs...

Chad was very lucky to have so many visitors...

OMA

UNCLE RYAN

AUNT ANGELA, GABRIELA, & NATALIE

GRANDPA & GRANDMA MARY
(...AND AUNT MICHELLE WAS THERE TOO!)

(Unfortunately....Grandma was in Italy.)

...and then it was off to Chad's first Fathers and Sons campout! No pictures of that (naturally), but he and David had a great time!

What a good big brother...

So, I walked into the living room the other day and Chad was helping Cameron put his shoes on. The scenario was just too funny! I had to take pictures of it!

Time to Pray...and Eat

We had to blog about this because we chuckle everytime he does it! Cameron loves to put his hands in the praying position--this is how he does it! So cute!

He's become quite the eater now, and is finally eating with a fork. The kid won't stop drinking out of a bottle though--does not like sippy cups! We don't want to quit cold turkey by starving him, but if he doesn't start soon...

Mother's Day in San Clemente

Our Mother's Day was really nice this year! It started with sleeping in and then breakfast in bed! Church was nice that day, too, and then we headed down to my sister, Angela's house in San Clemente, where our moms and siblings all met to enjoy the day in San Clemente. We made our way to the pier and the beach, where it was beautiful--it was the perfect temperature and there wasn't a cloud in the sky! Dinner completed the day--which really turned out to be very relaxing and a great day for all us moms!
