This year to get ready for Halloween we had lots fun. We always head over to the Pumpkin Patch for some cute pictures and activities, but this year we actually found a local corn maze to take the kids to as well. They had pumpkins growing on the vine, which was exciting for the kids to see and experience. I love the fall! We ate pumpkin pancakes for breakfast (and dinner) and made lots of pumpkin chocolate chip cookies too.
My kids know that in order to play, they have to pose for pictures first! They always do a good job! It's cute to see the way they choose to pose for the pictures. You can see their personalities in each one.
The kids chose to do some slides and bounce house obstacle courses. What was really cute is that Kylie and Chad both gave up an extra activity in order for Cameron to ride this one. They shared their tickets with him because this ride was a little more expensive. Needless to say, he LOVED it. He crashed about 50 times in the process, but was an experienced driver by the end. :) We had a great time watching and laughing at him try and maneuver this little tractor around.
Lots of other fun things were happening in October too. Cameron had his annual Halloween parade at preschool and did a great job of singing many spooky songs to all of the parents. I was trying to get a video of him at his last preschool performance and he decided to turn completely the opposite direction from me the entire time. I know it wasn't on purpose....he just gets distracted and looks in all directions. Just not mine. :( He decided to be Batman at school that day.
Every year Promenade has a Fall Festival that the PTO puts on and it is always something to look forward to. There are games, food, face painting, music, costume contests, and at the end of the night the kids trick or treat around the classrooms. Its always a lot of fun. I never get any pictures because I am always running around that night helping out, but the kids had a great time.
The school never lets the kids dress up on Halloween, but Red Ribbon Week usually ends up during the week before Halloween. The Friday of Red Ribbon Week the kids are asked to wear red and come with crazy hair that day. Kylie and Chad had fun participating and the fifth graders had the opportunity to carve pumpkins with their first grade buddies that day.
