At the start of the new year something exciting happened for Cameron - he went to his first day of primary at church. He is no longer in nursery and is now going to the Sunbeam sunday school class. He was very excited to join Kylie and Chad in primary. It came up so fast. Usually kids are three for a while before they begin sunbeams. Cameron's birthday is the last possible day you can turn three to join the Sunbeam class, so needless to say, he is the very youngest in the class. But you would never know. I am so proud of him. According to the ladies that serve in primary, he is very reverent. He raises his hand to ask questions and loves to answer them too. He sings along and LOVES it! It is so fun to watch through the window when he doesn't know I'm standing there.
He has been saying his own prayers at night for a while now.....but with assistance from mommy or daddy. Just recently he wanted to say them all on his own. I thought that would be really cute and I was looking forward to what he might say. This is what he said, "Dear Heavenly Father, please bless that I can get my own Bakugan so that I won't have to play with Chad's. Please bless that I don't have to get baptized because I don't want to. I wish that I could watch Tom and Jerry every day because I like it. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I was so impressed with how carefully he thought of what he wanted to say, but it was hilarious what actually came out of his mouth. Even though he was telling his Heavenly Father what he wished for, I still thought that it was very cute. As for the baptism thing, we have had many discussions lately about what you do when you get baptized and how you have to go under the water. He is very afraid of being dunked under the water, and that the water is going to be cold. So he is pretty sure that he would like to avoid being baptized altogether. Hopefully he will understand more and change his mind before he turns eight! :) I'm looking forward to lots more sweet prayers from Cameron!
