So I know that we all have these conversations with our kids in the car. But I have to post this one so I won't forget it. Actually, I should actually start posting most of them so that I will have record of each and every one. They are great and kids sure are cute!
On the way home from school...
Kylie: "I think I am going to change what I want to be when I grow up. I think instead of a doctor I want to be a teacher."
Mom: "That sounds good, you may change your mind more in the future, too. You have a lot of teachers in your family, so that might just be what you do. You would be good at that."
Kylie: "I just don't know what to do. I don't want to be gone from my kids all day, and if I am a teacher I will be."
Mom: "You can decide that when you get older. Just like Mommy, you can teach for a while, and then stay home when you have kids. You just have to make sure that your husband has a good job so that you don't have to work."
Chad: (WHO HAS BEEN TOTALLY QUIET UP UNTIL THIS POINT, BUT OBVIOUSLY LISTENING VERY INTENTLY) "Oh...don't worry Kylie, I will have a good job. You won't have to work."
I thought that that was so sweet. For some reason, Chad just assumed that when he grew up he was going to be with Kylie. Leave our house with her and that was that. We then had a conversation about how you don't marry your sister, and he was going to find some other girl some day to marry. I have to admit, he looked a little disappointed.:) It was cute.
