Flu Shot Anxiety

I know, I know, again I haven't updated our blog in forever! Everyone knows that I tend to be a bit of a worrywart. I'm now having flu shot anxiety! Our kids doctors recommend that they all get a flu shot ASAP, but I'm not so sure how I feel about that. I'm nervous giving in because of what I have read is in the flu vaccine, and because it does not even protect against all strains of the flu virus. I'm not sure if I even believe in the fact that it is needed....I think it just might be a way to make lots of money for whomever the money goes to. But, on the other hand, Chad has asthma and Cameron has already had one bout of minor wheezing. Asthma is apparently a major reason to get a flu shot because it can become dangerous with the flu. Chad's asthma is not a major problem, but he has had issues in the past. What is a mother to do? I want what is best and MOST HEALTHY for my kids, but I don't know who to believe. What do you all think about this issue? Will your kids be getting a flu shot this season? Any help or advice would be very much appreciated!

I'm not much on advice for shots since I have avoided the flu shot for 30 years. Now my doctor insist I have one...go figure. Anyway, I want to incert a hearty congratulation to David for his job advancement. Burke sent us the good news. Awesome.

I feel exactly the same as you. I was just at the Dr. for my yearly visit and she recommended I get one because I'm breast feeding and also for the girls to each have one. I didn't get one last year when I was pregnant and I didn't give Hannah one last year either. I don't know what it is but something has me weary about it. I guess I'm not much help on the issue!
